“A Story of Joy”

When I was laid up in the hospital, not sure what to do anymore.  I had a lot of doctor appointments and we were in trouble money wise due to my husband taking off work so much to take me to doctor appointments.  I was ready to give up and not go to any of them anymore because 1) we didn’t have another car and 2) I wasn’t allowed to drive due to the stroke and having seizures.  The lady from social services came to my room and told me about a transportation service available in my county for free.

It was hard for me to believe, but I took the card and talked it over with my husband.  He wasn’t sure about it at first.  But, I told him we had to do something.  So, I called and that day changed my whole life.  I met my angel from VolTran.

I was really nervous the first time he picked me up.  But, my VolTran driver made me feel like we had known each other forever.  It was great!  I can’t put into words how special this service and the volunteers are to me.  They are the best people in the world!

I call my VolTran driver my “angel” because it’s true!  Without him, my family and I would be in dire straits.  Not only is he my driver, but he quickly became my friend.  I owe the social services lady so much gratitude for bringing me and VolTran together as this service has saved my and my family’s life.
